Anxi Village
After WWII, the area was administratively divided and named Jiali District Anxi Village in 1946. It is mainly made up of four tribes: Tanqian, Gan Zhai, Da Lu Wei and Tian Zi Qian. It is situated in the center of Jiali District, having Liu'an and Dongning Villages to the East, Haicheng Village to the North, Jiafu Village to the Northwest, and Cigu Township to the west with Sinsheng Rd. as the south boundary of Jiannan Village. The important administrative organizations are Jiali Farmers' Association, and the educational institution is the Jiali Elementary School in this village. The residents in this area make their living mostly by farming and trading and to a lesser extent from fresh water aquaculture. There are many temples here; for example, Yushan Temple, Zhong Ron Temple, Dai Tian Hu Guo Temple, Fo Tian Temple, Hsi Fang Yuan-Shuai Temple, Lei An Temple, etc. The reason it was named Anxi Village is because it is in the west part of the center area of Jiali District. The range of the area is largely from the west part of Liu'an Village to the south part of Haicheng Village. Because it situated slightly west of downtown, it is called “Anxi,” referring to stabilizing the west-side of the area, as well as being one of the villages that is named after a cardinal direction, the rest being Zhongyuan(now is Zhongren), Dongning and Jiannan Villages. In the Japanese colonial period, this was the land of “Jiali Liou Bao” and “Jiali Qi Bao.”
