Haicheng Village
Haicheng Village and Zhangzhou Village were originally the living place of the Soulangh Pingpu tribe, so it is also called Fan Zi Liao and Bei Tou Yang. Then, during the Ming-Qing Enlightenment, the Yang family from Haicheng County in Fujian came and cultivated the area, so the place was called Haicheng Village and includes three tribes, the Fan Zi Liao, Bei Tou Yang and Lai Cian Liao. It became an administrative region in 1946.
Haicheng Village neighbors six villages, with Xinghua and Liu'an Villages to the east, Anxi Village to the south, Zhangzhou, Dingbu and Jiafu Villages to the West and Jiangjyun District to its North, and it is the largest village in Jiali District as well. They mainly cultivate sugarcane and corn. Haicheng Community in the village and Zhangzhou Community in Zhangzhou Village together are called “Hsinan Community.” In the region, we have the two temples of Ching Chang and Guang An Temples, and the two historical sites of the Pingpu Tribes in the Bei Tou Yang, Fei Fan Tomb and Holland Well. There are still some Soulangh Pingpu clansmen living in the recent Beitouyang. Moreover, we have the nationally famous Song-Jiang Jhen Battle Array as the local folk art.

Dug by the Dutch for drinking and irrigation. This well provided drinking water to residents in the Beitouyang tribe for 300 years. Because it is a calcium carbonate well, it has sweet-tasting, clean water. Late in the period of Japanese rule, people used the well water to make not only its famous apple water, but also tofu, salt, and many other things. Even Japanese inspectors and officials appointed people to get water for them to drink.

Fe Fan Tomb

Located at the farm of the east Fesalun Piedmont, it is called Fe Fan because the tomb owner Tien Yu Chen was good at running. When requested by the Qianlong emperor to race with a horse in Beijing, unexpectedly, Tien Yu Chen ran faster than the horse. The Qianlong emperor was so happy that he gave Tien Yu Chen and his son the opportunity to see the emperor three times. For that reason, his descendants carved “Both Father and son have seen the emperor three times” on the tomb to record and spread the good virtue of the ancestors to their descendants.

It is the Center of faith of Zhangzhou Village as well as the center of religion and culture. The Centipedes and Song-Jiang Jhen Battle Arrays of Yinyuan Temple are well-known in Taiwan. It was in 2011 that the temple, following the instruction of God, held the Hundred-Man Centipedes array religious blessing parade. There are three differences compared with that in other places:
1. The civil and military officials are children
2. They are hand-carried through the whole parade
3. It is the only centipedes array that is guided by a centipede pearl. The 204.538 meter-long parade line in 2011 even set a new Guinness World Records as the world’s longest parade.
